We only offer the kind of food that we like to eat. Our team starts early every day, nurturing the tradition of serving fresh and house-made menu items. Soups, salad dressings, salsa. Your salad wakes up with us each morning, starting with whole produce we hand inspect and rinse before we chop, shred, slice, or dice it in-house. Almost all our proteins are nitrate/nitrite free, all-natural and free from antibiotics. Pizza dough gets tossed and stretched moments before it reaches your table. Breads and desserts come fresh every morning from our equally food-crazed sister, Flour Head Bakery. Our story begins in 1990 in a Downtown Knoxville that had yet to find its modern vibe. We called ourselves the Flying Tomato, open for lunch five days a week, serving friends and family on paper plates with plastic forks. That inauspicious beginning evolved into The Tomato Head of today with an ongoing commitment to the quality of our food and the health of our guests. We’ve continued to nurture the tradition of serving food that’s fresh, flavorful, and wholesome, making it that way every day. Two locations in Knoxville on Market Square downtown and Kingston Pike in West Knoxville. Along the way we learned that cultivating our ties to the culture, neighborhoods, and above all our neighbors might be good for business, but it’s even better for our heart and soul.

Where are the Tomato Head locations in Knoxville?
We have two locations in Knoxville. Our original spot is at 12 Market Square in Downtown Knoxville, and our West Knoxville location is at 7240 Kingston Pike, Suite 172 in The Gallery Shopping Center. Both locations offer dine-in, takeout, and online ordering.
Do I need a reservation, or do you take walk-ins?
Reservations are recommended on weekends and special holidays, and for parties of 8 or more. Walk-ins are always welcome. Book online or call us at (865) 637-4067.
Do you serve brunch, and which days?
Yes, we serve brunch on Saturday and Sunday until 3 PM. Full brunch menu includes mimosas, huevos rancheros, sandwiches, bowls, and fresh pastries from Flour Head Bakery.
Do you have gluten-free and vegan options?
Yes. Gluten-free pizza crust and GF buns are made by our sister bakery Flour Head Bakery. Most of the menu can be made vegetarian or vegan. We also offer Be-Hive Non Dairy Garlic Soy Shreds as a vegan cheese option.
Can you cater an event or deliver to us in Knoxville?
